Soran Lind is a Norwegian saxophonist whose artistry has captured audiences across Europe and beyond. Based in Oslo, Soran has established himself as a dynamic performer, known for his virtuosic technique and warm, expressive sound.

As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras like Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra and the Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces. His performances have been broadcast on Norwegian television NRK, BBC Radio, Danish Radio DR, and Latvian Radio, earning him a reputation as a compelling storyteller through music. 

A passionate chamber musician, Soran has been a sought-after performer at festivals such as Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Risør Chamber Music Festival, Suena Festival Wien, Oslo Opera Festival, Drammen Arts Festival and Arosa Music Festival. His musical journey has taken him across Norway, France, Austria, the U.S., Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Latvia and Switzerland, captivating audiences with his diverse and innovative programs.

Soran’s artistry and dedication have been recognized through numerous distinguished accolades, including first prizes at the Oslo Rotary Soloist Competition, the EMCY competition “Norwegian Music Competition for Youth” and the Oslo Championship for Soloists. He achieved recognition as a finalist in the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation’s soloist competition “Virtuos”.

In addition to performing the standard repertoire, Soran is passionate about performing contemporary music. This has led to 15 world premieres for saxophone in 23/24, showcasing his commitment to collaborating with the new generation of composers.

Soran has been supported by foundations such as T. Wilhelmsen Foundation, Sparebanken1, Fegersteen Foundation, J. Ellingsen Foundation, among others.

In 2024, he graduated from the prestigious diploma program at Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien. He previously studied at Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin, and at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
